The County Maps project originated as a joint project of the Department of Geography and The University of Texas Libraries at The University of Texas at Austin. The maps in this collection are published by the Texas Department of Transportation and reproduced here with permission.

The digitization of the full Texas Counties collection has been made possible by a TexShare Access to Local Holdings Grant awarded to the General Libraries. This project was completed in August 1999.

County Map Data Files for GIS users are available online from the Texas Natural Resources Information System.
